The Newsletters are out and I am starting next week's programming.
Yesterday, I have a visitor (Didit) from The Resonanz Music School here in Jakarta. He brought me a number of concerts of which one of them is the following:
This will be heard next week (Week of the 1st of November) on one of the Indonesian Programmes in the evening. We will have more from the Resonaz in the following weeks.
I have been featuring a piano performances by a good friend of mine, Alan Whitman. Alan and I grew up together in Kankakee, Illinois, which is about 60 miles south of Chicago. Alan was the best man at my first wedding. Alan could have been a great concert pianist but decided to take a degree in engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a retired professor from Wayne State University in Detroit and lives with his family near Detroit. Over the years, Alan has continued to play the piano. So I have asked him to record his performances so we can air them on Radio Arts Indonesia. Right now, we have three pieces of which you will hear one on Monday the 4th of November in the First Programme. This will be Hoagy Carmichael's Stardust. As Alan keeps providing me with his performances, you will hear them in the weeks to come. Once I have enough then Alan will be featured on the Artist of the Week
